Balance complete Holders

Balance complete Holders before restoration

Here’s one  of the seldom seen tools in the Vintage market place. I’m not sure why but I’ve only seen three sets of these in the last few years. Slotted for the arms a balance complete is put inside while you use a soft leather bow or a soft bristled brush and some rouge to polish the rim and screws. Of course they would be useless on three armed balances that came later but for keeping the hairspring and staff protected they are quite effective.
